"SNUFF PEDDLER"
Vintage German smoker / incense burner (with a wind-up music box!) by Steinbach. This is a wonderful example of the charming and whimsical wooden folk art Steinbach is famous for!
A snuff tobacco peddler, this guy also has a working music box-- simply turn the little handle and you have a lovely little tune! We adore the additional details like the fabric handkerchief, his rosy nose and cheeks, fuzzy hair, and the chain of snuff canisters!
The writing on top of his music box roughly google translates to: "This well-prepared extra-light head, brand and flush powder, sniffed 2 to 3 times a day, is good for dizziness and strengthens the memory. Schneeberger snuff". The little "canisters" on his chain translate to, "Schneeberger Snuff Tobacco"

To use : The top half of his body lifts off to reveal the incense holder. Place your favorite cone incense inside, and watch the smoke billow from his mouth*.
